Child & Youth Therapy in Chilliwack, BC

When Kids Are Struggling

It Doesn't Always Show Up In Words

Sometimes it looks like meltdowns, shutdowns, worries, or behaviour that suddenly changes. Sometimes it’s big emotions that feel confusing for everyone involved.

Children are still learning how to understand their feelings, regulate their bodies, and make sense of what’s happening around them. When life brings stress, change, or difficult experiences, they may not yet have the language to explain it.

That’s where child therapy can help.

We support children in ways that are developmentally appropriate, gentle, and grounded in relationship.

Why Play Therapy

Works for Kids.

Play is the natural language of childhood.

Just as adults often talk through experiences, children often express and process through play. Toys, art, imagination, and movement can allow children to communicate things they may not yet be able to say out loud.

Play therapy is a well-established, evidence-based approach that helps children express emotions safely, process difficult experiences, develop regulation skills, build confidence and resilience, strengthen relationships with caregivers

What It Looks Like

Child Therapy

Some sessions may involve play, storytelling, drawing, or creative activities. Other times children may talk more directly about what they’re experiencing. Our clinicians meet each child where they are and adjust the work based on their comfort, developmental stage, and needs.

The goal is not to force change or “fix” behaviour.
The goal is to help children feel understood, supported, and better equipped to navigate their world.

Supporting

Parents & Caregivers

Helping a child thrive often means supporting the system around them.

Parents and caregivers play an important role in a child’s growth, and part of our work may include helping adults better understand what their child is experiencing and how to support them at home.

This collaboration helps create consistency and stability beyond the therapy room, allowing children to carry what they learn into everyday life.

Care works best when everyone feels supported.

A Place where Kids

Can Be Themselves

Child therapy at Inner Balance Solutions is grounded in patience, relationship, and respect for each child’s pace.

Some children need space to play.
Some need help naming big feelings.
Some simply need a place where they can be seen and supported.

Our role is to create that space.

What Healing

Can Look Like.

Over time, children often begin to develop:

Stronger emotional awareness
Improved regulation skills
Healthier ways to express needs and feelings
Greater confidence in themselves
